What people are saying.

  • β€œI already do recommend your online classes!! Esp if they can't do an in person class. You're the only person around who truly sees everything going on w them & has the knowledge to help manage whatever may be presenting. I've have had a handful of clients say they will look into the classes or contact you but I think only 2 or 3 of them have actually followed through. Few people want to put in the work...tbh. Or they become overwhelmed w everything that is "wrong" or "incorrect"... or wanting a quick fix etc. you know how people can be. More & more are coming around but it's been a tough time waiting for them too, ha. For me personally, I have a very difficult time learning online. I am much more of a hands on person, plus my eyes have a hard time looking at screens for extended periods of time, which why I asked about your 1 on 1. Cailin doesn't seem to have interest at the moment. I know she has a lot going on w Mark Schwarm & their clinic. Please know the work you do & are doing is greatly appreciated & extraordinarily beneficial to all who are willing to hear...do not be discouraged, your putting it out there & those who are pursuing knowledge will find it πŸ˜˜β€οΈβ€

  • β€œWow! I really didn't know what to expect when I signed up for a lesson. I admit, when watching the other lessons before mine, I figured this was way too much for Flint and I. I am not currently riding and was looking for ideas of things to do on the ground to build trust. Flint is very sensitive and worried. He is great at lounging but always very tense. Deanna showed me if I soften my body language and don't look at him, he will relax and moves so much better! Today, I worked with him free lounging in the dry lot. Once again, when he started out he was worried but he quickly saw that I wasn't and he dropped his head and relaxed. Even in the small area, he was lengthening his stride and looking so much better! I wish I had someone to video it. The difference was huge!”

  • β€œSo this was my birthday weekend, and it was fabulous! This year marks my 46th year as a student of all things horse. That is alot of years, and yet there is always more to learn. Thank you to Laurie Simmons French-Brooks for all you do to make life better for horses and their people, and for sharing! And thank you to What Deanna Preis Horsemanship at Shade Tree Stables! What she is teaching, makes me feel 12 years old all over again. New information, as well as old information that is presented in a new and refreshing way. Highly recommend Deanna Preis for all the things, from presentations to your riding/horse clubs to in person lessons to online learning. Take it from this old horse lady, Deanna is one to watch for the future. She is making life better for horses and their people!”

  • "I am finally learning to "make words with my alphabet." I have known this classical work was best for my horses. I've read countless books, watched videos, attended clinics but could not seem to understand the technical details well enough. We've had Deanna Preis here three times now, and she has helped me over that obstacle of understanding in a clear, kind way. I understand, my horses understand, and we are making healthy progress. Thank you Deanna!!"

  • "Deanna is absolutely wonderful, she hosts many insightful webinars from differing backgrounds and topics and they have been truly inspirational from a veterinary student background. Deanna is so kind and always uses her felt sense to encourage relaxation and always assesses the horse in front of her each day. Highly highly recommend"

  • "I had such a great time at the Deanna Preis Horsemanship Clinic at Miss Mandi Acres! It was refreshing to learn from a trainer whose philosophy aligns so closely with my own beliefs wher training horses by respecting the horse's communication and choices, listening to their opinions, and breaking things down into small, simple steps so they have time to process and express their boundaries without stress. I especially appreciated the focus on setting horses up for success and prioritizing true understanding rather than just obedience, allowing each horse the time and approach they need as individuals. There was so much valuable insight into building clearer communication and thoughtful leadership. I highly recommend her for anyone interested in developing a real partnership with their horse, especially if you're new to liberty or this approach to horsemanship. She's also fantastic at communicating with both horses AND their people, which is a rare combination."

  • β€œDeanna is a wonderful trainer and educator who has a clear passion for the work that she does. I can always trust that when I come to her with questions or problems she is going to give me a thorough and well thought out answer/solution. I have been lucky enough to be her student for many years and I have been able to see firsthand the positive impact that her compassion for horses and the knowledge she possesses can have on the development of horse and rider both independently and as a team. When I went to school and began taking pre veterinary courses I found that many of the things I was studying I had previously learned or touched on in my time with Deanna. She truly is one of the most knowledgeable people I have met in the industry and I cannot recommend learning from her enough!”

  • "One of the best virtual lessons I've ever had. Deanna and I rewatched the video I sent moment by moment to help train my eye to look for subtle shift in the body. I have a long road ahead starting my two young horses, but I feel I've met a trainer that is knowledgeable and prioritizes balance within the body. I live in a rural area so trainers are limited. Grateful for the virtual offering!"

  • "Deanna, you are such a wise and gentle instructor and we LOVE learning under your instruction! It is like a dream come true to have you travel to us and teach out of our barn. Already looking forward to our next session "

  • "Your course has actually probably been one of the most helpful things in my equine classes because you cover a lot of the same topics but I'm more used to how you teach so I've been using it a lot"
